born adidas - spring/summer 2014

adidas adidas originals born adidas spring summer 2014 womens lookbook new release

A few months ago i was lucky enough to be invited along to the s/s'14 showcase of the adidas brands collections at their press day, and ever since then i've pretty much been waiting for the products to start cropping up as the next release. the brands spring/summer lookbook for 2014 was released today and really shows off a more dark, sleeker style to the brand.

the iconic three-stripes is reinvented once again - the collection features bold fonts, prints and classic adidas silhouettes teamed with fresh new styles. the collection consists of tees, shorts, hoodies and sweats and also classic monochrome two-pieces.

the men's range includes gorgeous printed button-down shirts and shorts with laid back styles such as college style crew necks and printed jackets. a subdued but rich colour palette for spring/summer, which eases us in nicely out the autumn/winter chill.

but! it's the women's side of the collection that i have fallen for! featuring lovely feminine silhouettes the brand have incorporated a tennis dress, shorts, two pieces, crop tops and leggings into the mix all represented beautifully by the three-stripes and soft wishy-washy grey tones. it has a super chilled california grunge/skate feel to it, perfect for that summer sun we are all starting to crave!

as always the lookbook is executed to perfection, with all looks being something i could see myself and many of my friends dressed in. by mixing the sportswear inspired garments with streetwear pieces the looks are fashion forward and inspiring - how can you dress up your old firebird?

the whole collection will be available in the new year.
make sure to follow the brands tumblr for more visuals -

Pretty in Patta

amsterdam brand patta are by far one of my favourite brands around currently. their collections go from strength to strength each release, always keeping the quality and over all cohesiveness of the collections on point. the brand is primarily a menswear based - although certain pieces fall under being unisex.

creative directors ace dia and voilette esmeraida have shot a women's editorial featuring some iconic patta garments from their latest collections - the story which follows on from the 'girls in streetwear' concept which we are seeing more and more of, capture the feminine edge to the style.

i absolutely love the shots - mainly because i love to dress what is classed as mens streetwear garments up in the most girly way possible and it's refreshing to see the girls styled in a way i would dress myself. the styling is executed to perfection and the pastel wash photography style beautifully compliments this.

10.Deep Holiday 2013 “Midnight” Lookbook

10.Deep have taken inspiration from day turning to night to create their new holiday collection. The collection rightly titled ‘midnight’ features dark blue and black tones throughout with Hawaiian floral prints, which are a strong favourite for the brand. The brilliant white accents add depth to the print designs to bring to life the colour palette of a tropical night sky.

Yet again styled and executed perfectly, I love every piece in the collection – the brand go from strength to strength each release and perfectly put out brilliant men’s streetwear with formal elements. The colour pallet also features dusty pink tones for a classic button down shirt – and the almost world flag like print on another. There are a number of pieces i have my eye on for the collection, so be sure if you live in the UK to keep your eyes on the brand distribution company Out Of Step for release information over here!

Amongst the botanical and paisley prints the brand have incorporated Japanese text detailing as a tribute to the fictional city of Neo Tokyo also. The full lookbook is viewable here and the collection is set to launch tonight at 11:59pm EST on the brands online store.

Yoshifumi Egawa x BAPE “A SKATING APE”

For Fall/Winter '13 professional skateboarder and A SKATING APE collaborator Yoshifumo Egawa fronts the 'A Skating Ape' video. Taking on the Tokyo cityscape, riding through the busy streets effortlessly. Head to toe in A SKATING APE's winter collection he sports a number of graphic tees, bright zip up hoodies and jackets. Showing the garments versatility and function - the video has a laid back feel which flows well with the brand and the collection.

asics gel lyte iii 'urban camo'

on friday afternoon these babies landed on my desk at work, my very own teeny size urban camos. having had my eye on this particular colourway since the preview snaps earlier in the year i have been waiting for these to release - and although at first i thought asics had left us small footed peoples out i was happy to get my paws on my prize UK4 in these!

put together in probably my 3 favourite colours - soft grey, black and baby blue they are the most incredible GR release i've certainly set eyes on in a while. the all grey toe is by far one of my favourite design concepts that asics is famed for - and the design actually even reminds me of my custom made in the USA new balance. the quality and fit is on point, i did worry the sizing would be a bit all over the place, but i should have had more faith as they fit like a dream.

unfortunately the weather has turned meaning i'll have to be super careful dodging puddles in these, but its safe to say they won't be coming off my feet for a while! they are still available over on drome's website.

no boys allowed x timberland x motel

something a little different today. with the winter weather drawing in all i can think about is the fact my favourite trainers are going to have to be boxed away waiting for the weather the fair up again. thankfully female sneaker consignment store no boys allowed have us girls covered for the winter chill.

operating from the netherlands, a place we have to thank for some of our much loved stores. NBA prides in stocking the best, most exclusive kicks for girls. the ranges span through all brands from runners such as new balance and nike to the more solid heritage brands such as dr martens.

whilst browsing their webstore i came across some super cute, girly timberlands - perfect for dressing up a plain jersey dress with knitwear layered up and long socks these timberlands add a tomboyish, but still retaining that soft feminine finish to any winter look - whilst keeping you warm and dry also! i absolutely love the white detailing on the navy pair especially the white stitching adds a crisp finish with the gum sole to finish it off. safe to say i'm writing my christmas list now for these!

stefan janoski x nike iD x pendleton

if the roshe run x pendleton sneak shots weren't enough to fill your love of the famous woolen mill, this coming monday (4th november) another nike iD concept is set to launch - one which incorporates one of my favourite nike silhouettes - the nike sb stefan janoski.

the partnership adds new level to nike iD through new and exciting fabrics to construct with and also allowing it to expand onto skate silhouettes. the collaboration comes after the tremendously successful and continuing partnership with liberty of london and also some of our favourite nike materials such as safari and more recently elephant print.

it's not just the classic wool that the brand is offering up for us to run wild and design away till our hearts content of course, there will be a range of their staple and signature patterns - hopefully a lot of them!

it's yet to be revealed if europe will see the launch the same day as america, so we can do is cross our fingers and hope that nike haven't let us down! (of course nows the time to call in a favour from any american friends if so!)

keep both eyes on the nike iD blog/twitter and webstore for updates on the launch, and make sure your poised ready by your computer for designing this monday!

so i wonder whats next for nike iD next year? personally i would love to see 3M as an option!

making the brand: staple

in a new series karmaloop chats to jeff staple founder of brand staple. it's safe to say he is someone you watch in an interview and feel instantly inspired. grab and seat and enjoy the 6 minute wonder.

adidas 2014 collection viewing

a few weeks ago myself and the unisex mode girls where invited along to view the 2014 spring/summer collections from the brand with the 3 stripes - adidas.

held in the brands uk showroom, collections ranged from garments which will be distributed worldwide to own brand stores and independent, right up to the exquisitely constructed and designed Y-3, Porsche Design Sport, Raf Simons and Opening Ceremony - to name but a few.

adidas originals - s/s '14
adidas come through with another amazing print concept - the brand never ever disappoint in the key piece details within the originals line. within the collection a beautifully constructed windbreaker with neon half sleeves/underarm detail won me over. the snake skin print - a favourite throughout a lot of adidas' collections, is also featured on a long-sleeve polo, leggings and an amazing loose fit vest dress (more on that in a later post). the collection combines marl grey jersey, neon windbreaker fabrics, with a staple forest green all complimented perfectly with snake print. again adidas come through with silhouettes that are brilliantly unisex, but where aimed at the female market fit every curve with flattering lengths also.

another classic reworked for s/s 2014 is the infamous adidas superstar. the classic silhouette has been vamped up with a brilliantly 90s girl band feel with a solid white platform and polka dots. if you, like me have been searching for a comfy shoe for a night out but don't dare go near a stiletto - this is the one! - adidas originals online

adidas x opening ceremony

as always the adidas x opening ceremony collection was breathtaking. a perfectly put together collection of feminine pastels with a sports luxe cut. a wonderful textured dot print featured on pieces contrasted with bold colour lines running through the seams and piping. the collection consists of bra-lets, cigarette pants and pleated skirts following through into delicate knits and cardigans. the brands come together in a typically japanese way of garment construction and design, with the most effortless sophistication. - opening ceremony online

as adidas continues to push their #allinformygirls campaign it's safe to say they certainly haven't let us girls down in things to look forward too next season. a brand that certainly does try to push the boundaries of sports/street silhouettes for a feminine figure. i look forward to seeing all the garments begin to filter into stores come the new year, and it's safe to say i have my eye on a fair few key pieces!

pow pow patta

the images of the patta winter 2013 have been released and it's a corker of a collection. all set for the release at the london patta pop-up store later this month, the large capsule collection features staples such as tees, pullovers, bucket hats and crew necks with some rather grown-up and refined classic outerwear pieces by grenfell, made in london.

i love allllll of the collection, by far my most favourite colour palette too with blacks, whites and pop colours of a gorgeous purple, plum, navy and a green that resembles the colour of $$$$ bills. the london pop-up store will be the first to release the collection alongside other exclusives (keep your eyes peeled) followed by patta themselves' online and in-store release the week after.

safe to say i will be couting down the days to make some purchases of this collection, with the brand yet again showing no signs of stopping with their perfectly cohesive collection aesthetics and execution.

it's safe to say patta got love for all, especially us over in england!

patta pop-up store - october 17th-20th

today i was stoked to be hooked up by bombtrack bikes to get my dreeeeeam bike from them in germany! being that its going to be my first fix wheeled bike, i was being super picky on the frame and style i wanted to go for! the divide frame is perfect, i can't wait for it to arrive! though i am not looking forward to falling off trying to adjust myself to not casually coasting down hills.

so, i started looking into a bunch of accessories i could buy for when riding my new bike - foot-straps, bags, lights e.t.c and thats when i stumbled across restrap

restrap are a homegrown brand from yorkshire, who dedicate time into creating innovative and aesthetically pleasing bike accessories and clothing. the brand started life as a bedroom brand created by nathan hughes and has now blossomed through hard work into a fully fledged leeds independent operating from their own workshop.

the brand pride themselves on innovation, using recycled fabrics within their products and also designs that have a real bespoke edge to them. everything is handmade, something which i love! and being a team of cycle fanatics, they are constantly reaching out to broaden their product ranges - now venturing into frames and parts design. each product is launched after being extensively tested under every condition to ensure each product is durable and performs perfectly.

the brand are also linked with the north race a non profit organisation striving to create a cycling community through events, parties and all things north. bringing people together from all levels of cycling experience to create a central hub of knowledge and friendship.

below are a few of my favourite products from the brand, check them out and make a purchase of some bespoke, handmade commuter products! i'm sold on their foot-straps, which i will be hoping to get hold of once my new bike arrives - viva la yorkshire!

stella mccartney x adidas - spring/summer 2014

earlier this week at one of london's finest fashion calendar events 'LFW' opened its doors to showcase the best for spring/summer 2014. one in particular i was excited about was stella mccartney's new collection for adidas spring/summer 2014 - someone pinch me now because i have died and gone to sports luxxe heaven.

the collection features plenty of soft feminine colours (something stella pushes for in her 'make-workout-wear-feminine' design aesthetic) plenty of mixed media fabrics - swimsuit fabric, mesh, fleece and jersey, teamed together with gorgeous fashion forward prints and the most fantastic pattern cutting/construction that i have been crying out for in women's sports fashion.

the presentation itself was built up of separate sections - live yoga, spinning, synchronised swimming, spinning and studio workouts. giving you drive and inspiration to get out there, workout and look incredibly good while doing it.

"It's very much to inspire people to have pride in themselves, their performance, to push themselves, It's really exciting during London Fashion Week to be able to showcase it with sports performers."

the colour palette is literally to die for, heavenly soft pastels and my favourite mint green colour. the seam construction of the peach bomber jacket is incredible! the raglan t shirt 2 piece in green with cream sleeves is something i would wear outside the gym, but still functions with all the clima aspects of sports performance wear.

an assortment of mint, dusty pink, neon, black and greys scatters all over the collection. bringing each piece to a sophisticated edge with pop colours to define those details. cut out details ensure everything is kept feminine and making sure those silhouettes mould to your body.

i have always been excited to see a summer collection from stella as i have been intrigued as to what direction she would go in for swimwear - its safe to say she hasn't disappointed, going for an ultra feminine but functional 2 piece and pastel swimsuit with cut outs in all the right places - complete with sandals and bag to match.

needless to say i am in love, this is my dream collection and i cannot wait for it to become available!
stella, i salute you! x

adidas x stella mccartney will be available in the up and coming spring/summer '14 period

available from:
adidas leeds trinity - albion street
stella mccartney - fulham road
