this week i've also been giving my nike x patta 'denim cord' air max 1's a little loving! i tend to try keep it super girly with outfits so been wearing them with a little black playsuit from h&m.

hot safari

as they say as one door closes another one opens, as one pair of trainers i finally manage to get my hands on...theres always another to add to the collection. this week i managed to get my hands on a pair of women's air max 1 - black/black-hot red safaris from the 2009 release!

i am so so excited, i have been looking for these for so long, and i never ever thought i would manage to grab them in such a perfect condition too! (high five to rosy for parting with them and giving in to my hassling of wanting to buy them!) these are from the same pack as my white/glass blue safaris i mentioned in my first post on this blog, and have to be one of my favourite releases ever! i love safari print, suede and the pop colours that are heavy featured throughout the whole of this pack.

the inner and eyelets are coloured in this most amazing salmon/hot pink which just sits with the black so perfectly and gives the shoe and amazing girly pop, with it being the only colour featured. the swoosh is in a really soft and almost fluffy black suede which sits on an upper of beautiful black safari leather, the ankle wrap and front of the shoe are also set in safari print - you could almost say the entire body of the shoe is safari, resembling it to a wild cat (makes me wish someone would cross breed a black panther and a leopard) leaving the paws in a soft fur like suede.

this leads me on to my favourite feature of this shoe and the main reason in which i set my sights on owning this particular release...the toe box detail - i love so much how it is set in only suede and sports mesh. it's this detail which reminds me of many of my favourite asics releases that feature an all colour toe box - a design feature that i wish more nike releases had. needless to say i am smitten with these and never taking them off. this also leaves me with a hard choice of which out of my new purchases to wear at sneaks and peaks next month where i'll be selling the new young reckless hearts collection with a little help from my 2 girls!

cake skate

images taken from skateboard cafe

so, recently i stumbled upon skateboard cafe after searching for weeks to discover where everyone seemed to be getting these rad doughnut tees from - and instantly fell in love. i am a fool for a mint chocolate chip, raspberry ripple and chocolate sauce at the best of times so immediately fell for every product this brand had to offer. unfortunately in the mists of poverty i'm watching my dreams of owning the 'double d' t-shirt slowly fade away as quite rightly it begins to sell out!

skateboard cafe are a uk based brand from bristol, focusing on skate clothing and boards with a unique twist through the excellent print designs. each collection relates back to the cafe concept, which of course means sugary treats, cakes and drinks! who doesn't love that! the brand recently launched their website at the start of this month and have printed a selection of the 'double d' hoods to co-inside with this.

everything is limited which i love, i think it keeps the excitement in being involved and buying from a brand - who doesn't love sitting pressing refresh to grab something on release day? and anything with a true laid-back, cali skate feel too is awesome. it's a fun sport and it's refreshing seeing prints like this and the bold colour use-age. skateboard cafe also have a skate family of their own, be sure to keep eyes on their facebook page for their escapades both in the uk and abroad.

i've put together a selection of my favourite pieces from their current collection, though as it seems to be nearly all sold out i'm very much looking forward to their next release! i've honestly been living in a hole to miss out on this brand for so long, which i feel so terrible about - but i guess thats where you have to take your hats off to social media platforms that keep the circulation of images going.
keep up the good work guys!

liberty loves

image courtesy of liberty of london

well the day is finally here the nike x liberty london 'virtual light print' pack finally releases today after what feels like years upon years!

the collection is now available now over at liberty the pack includes a free run 0.5, bruin lite, dunk sky hi and of course the iconic air max 1 which i have no doubt you have all seen popping up over social media the past few months.

the release finally comes to it's home of the UK after a long wait after some international stores already released.

at first i have to admit i wasn't too in love with the choice of liberty pattern for this release, personally i am attracted to liberty x nike releases for their iconic floral prints and summer feminine colours - although i am a sucker for a gum sole, i am still undecided on this particular colour way and print style.

the virtual light liberty print has been developed using luminous fabric built of pixels from a digital projection, it was originally a screen grab that was then taken forward to layer and develop this print. the print is a different approach for the company who usually work with rotary and screen printing methods, so this digitally manipulated design is up to date with the modern loves in CAD design and digital print technology

- okay, when i put it that way, i begin to love the concept for this design.

the air max 1 features a poppin' orange air unit, gum sole and full grain creamy white leather swoosh!

head over to liberty's website now to grab your pair, via here - as these are sure to fly off the shelves! though as most nike releases, if you end up unlucky in grabbing this pair i'm sure as tradition the pack will be released at a later date from office/offspring stores and niketown - keep your eyes peeled for more info!

180 degrees

so i had a really exciting post day today of my 180 ultramarine 2005 release all the way from the US! i have been searching for this shoe for 3 years, nearly gave in and purchased a pair in uk5.5 for £150 last month but gut instinct told me to hang on! i'm so glad i did as i managed to scoop this dead-stock pair in a uk5 for £50 including postage! (did feel slightly like i was robbing the seller blind but heyyyy!)

i'm over the moon! after the 'vintage' effect OG release of these and the EM the past year i thought i was never going to be able to pick up a real OG pair for a sensible price, or in a small size - as far as i'm concerned you cannot beat the real mccoy and i'm pleased my hard hunting paid off!

this colour way is one of my favourite from nike, and i absolutely love the silhouette of the shoe. the larger air unit design in the 180 means they are super, super cushioned and supportive. the iconic air 180 was first released in 1992, created by tinker hatfield. the design concept was to have a shoe with an even larger air unit, which contains 50% more air than previous air max releases of the time. the clear air unit could be viewed from 180 degrees and voila! air max 180 was born!

my little 2005s are in perfect condition considering they are 8 years old (according to the label their birthday is 14/07/05) the air unit has yellowed but it's a minor to me, the paint is still in amazing condition and they have been stored really carefully in the original box. i'm currently out in the garden catching some rays and working on a new summer collection for young reckless hearts which we will be launching at sneaks & peaks in august, so had to grab some snaps of my new sneaks!

i'm so happy the weather has shaped up, these babies are going to get plenty of wear!

i love the sunshine!

so with summer finally upon us (please don't jinx it, please don't jinx it) i plucked up the courage to wear out my huarache le scream green's from 2000, on the beach no less! i grabbed a little snap to mark the moment. i'm feeling super, super relaxed thanks to moving out of london for a bit, getting out on my bike and relaxing in the sunshine!

so, what pairs have you been wearing out and about now the weather has started to shape up? tag #loveluxxe on instagram with your pairs and i can start some summer sneaker showcases!

go wild in the country

images taken from size?

with the images of the size? x urban safari air max light already surfaced my attention turned to this cheeky little toki colourway that caught my eye via the size? official instagram this morning.

i'm borderline when it comes to the toki shape, i love it when i see it worn by others but cannot imagine sporting a pair myself. however, this is all about to change! i'm in love with the toki release to coincide with the air max light colour ways, which pay homage to ACG heritage colour ways from nike - safari, lava high and the much adored mowabb. the pack rightly dubbed 'urban safari' are to be released in desert sand/hyper blue/total crimson and a black/poison green/pink  colour way which blend together all our favourite assets from the heritage colour palettes to create a fresh, vivid summer collection.

i am a sucker for two things when it comes to nike releases, the first being a speckled sole and the second safari print and i think this release perfectly partners the two together, with the neon pink swoosh accents on the heel tab of the toki making me weak at the knees.

part 1 of the urban safari pack is due to release this friday 7th june and whats more the size run is from uk5 to uk12 including half sizes, which makes my teeny fit dance in joy! the air max light is priced at £100 and the toki at £65 - keep your eyes on the size official twitter for the online release direct link at 6am! and of course keep a look out for part 2 of the release which i believe a roshe run is involved!

below i've put together some little summer outfit ideas of what i would wear with the new toki and also the air max light to get your ideas flowing! maybe some of you girls will also find yourself branching out to the toki silhouette!

baby bird

image taken from titolo

this absolute diamond just popped up on my twitter feed via kicksonfire and i nearly choked on my swig of tea!

this is the teaser image for the women's air max 1 ''pigeon'' made up in the infamous colour-way often sported by jeff staples well known designs, and although this release is in no way linked to the man himself or staple in any way i am one happy, happy girly that nike have decided to commandeer this colour palette for a BEAUTIFUL women's GR release for once! hooray no more glittery cheap leather with fish scale effect! merci nike!

i seriously cannot stop looking at this shoe, possibly my favourite women's GR release in a long, long time. the colour composition as demonstrated by staple is fool proof and sits so perfectly, really soft and pretty. it's sophisticated and girly, which is what us sneaker girls need from nike! i am super stoked on these sooooo much!

these babies are due to release july time,  but if you can't wait (much like me) you can pre order them now over on titolo for EURO 142 for shipping next month! the size range available at present is a uk3-uk7 but i believe as most women's releases should be a full run to a uk9 - no other stocklists have been confirmed yet but i'm sure to be securing my pair right now to avoid the madness!
