terrible movement - SS'14 mixtape

berlin based brand terrible movement present their spring summer 2014 collection. aptly named the mixtape lookbook, the collection is inspired by dreamy 90s memories of teenage angst with plenty of attitude.

the collection features a range of bold, cute handwritten slogans which pay homage to our favourite songs and artists of our childhood years. taking inspiration from textbook doodles and teen fanzines, the fonts capture the concept of this collection perfectly.

photographed by the incredibly talented alexandra waespi in beautiful 35mm, fuji film and an adapted land camera - the shots have a wonderful wishy-washy whimsical feel. bringing a rainbow colour palette to summer 2014, the collection has me ticking off the days until british summertime begins!

central to the brands distinctive aesthetic, screen printing is explored further for spring/summer 2014 - with the use of a split fountain print technique. this technique blends ink together to create a gorgeous gradient effect, with flecks of colour - making each piece individual, perfect in its imperfections.

this care free, youthful approach to design adds that little extra edge to the brand which i love. every collection is cohesive and matches the market and concept perfectly and at the highest quality - terrible movement is guilt and sweatshop free

shot in front of colourful home painted backdrops to echo the brands handcrafted aesthetic, the collection has a wonderful soft and honest feel. featuring classic styles from the brand such as the 'kiss me' muscle tee and the brands 'terrible' tee - new designs include a 'cry baby' crop top alongside low cut muscle tee's adorned with 'who's rad'.

check out the full lookbook below, and all designs are available now to purchase over on the brands website.

keep up to date with all things terrible movement over on the brands twitter, instagram and facebook pages.
