rita ora x adidas originals

rita ora adidas originals collection preview press release lookbook collection launch

back in october, hot on the heels of the topshop x adidasoriginals collaboration success, news broke that rita ora was the next superstar to have her own collaboration with the brand.

on top of non stop tours, rimmel London campaigns and DKNY - rita somehow, has managed to find time to design not one but five capsule collections for adidas originals which are due to launch soon!

“I don’t own a second of my life, so much so that my mom is scheduling in dinners”

rita recently debuted looks from the collection on her instagram, sporting a beautifully fitted jumpsuit and a black two piece look. this year adidas have joined forces with no less than fashion icon mary katrantzou and pharrell williams, following suit from the likes of raf simmons and stella mccartney - it promises to be a mega year for the brand, with rita on board as the first female artist collaborator.

the designs are very rita! luxe trackies with sheer side panels (which i love!) transparent rain jackets (festival season perfection!) and for those late night parties leather jacket with glow in the dark panelling, alongside prints, prints and more prints!

“There’s one look based on one of my dove tattoos. It’s the softer, more feminine side of me with its soft colors and cutouts on the sleeves with suede — you know, things that are nice to touch and feel.”

the line will come in five different capsule collections, over three global launch days -
august 21 – ‘black’ line (i’m excited already)
september 4 – ‘pastel’ and ‘colourblock’ lines
november 1 – ‘spray’ and ‘roses’ lines

all collections will include footwear, apparel, outerwear and accessories ranging from $30 for a beanie, to $500 for a leather varsity. the ‘black’ line – based on rita's london look, will be sold exclusively through selected originals stores and online. items in the collection include the glow in the dark leather jacket, transparent rain mac, boyfriend jacket in reptile print and of course a pair of kicks (please be superstars!)

the collection lookbook is slowly being seeded out, in the meantime i’ve grabbed some images from rita’s instagram. i look forward to the collection and can’t wait to see how she puts her style spin on the brand.

herschel supply: fine china

herschel supply co fine china collection

taking a modern approach to a classic british tradition, herschel supply present their latest capsule collection titled 'fine china'. taking influence from elegant tableware used during afternoon tea, the fine china collection features a hand illustrated pattern accented with matching rubber straps and sturdy zipper pulls.

to continue the story throughout the bags are lined with a classic white and blue print, inspired by the willow pattern. the fine china collection consists of five key luggage styles - heritage backpack, little america, city mid volume, market tote, novel duffle alongside five accessory options - ensuring you can fully coordinate all your essentials.

the city mid volume backpack is my favourite, i love the minimalistic approach to design. i'm not usually one for prints, but as always herschel supply execute them to the highest degree - ensuring your look is a refined statement, rather than too over powering.

the whole collection is beautiful - it's available online now from herschel stockists along with the brands webstore.

outfit of the day: coves, moons & stars.

finally after what seemed like a life time of waiting (i must have been last on ronnie's list for sending out) my gel lyte v 'coves' arrived, along with 3M laces. they are my first pair of gel lyte v's and i think they may have just pipped gel lyte iii's to the top spot for my favourite asics model.

the pigskin upper is perfect and the off white sole really finishes the style off. i went for my usual size of uk4, but was a little worried after experiences with gel lyte iii's fitting a little small - but these fit exactly right.

i decided to switch up the laces for the white and blue ropes, which i think add a softer look to the style and in my eyes feel more girly. kith were more than generous, with a total of 3 lace options included - along with the 3M option available as an addition.

i styled up my coves with the sun & moon babydoll tiara dress from motel, and accessorised with my moxham otto in gold and shore projects portland watch. i've recently been wearing the orange strap, but decided to switch back to my favourite of grey - i wanted the colour of the coves to really pop!

i love accessorising and adding colour into my monochrome wardrobe with gold and silver. big chunky bracelets and trainers add a boyish edge to an outfit, as i like to always wear dresses or skirts. it's a really simple way to dress up or dress down an outfit and draw focus to statement items.

ikea space concept design interiors homewares

recently i've been having the typical mid-year stress of lease renewal on my apartment. the first idea was to move to a larger property within the same complex, or swap and go up in the world and buy. with not quite the perfect property available, its ideal to just stay in my current apartment.

ropeslaces x asics

ropes laces custom laces asics kith caviar gel lyte iii

recently i was extremely lucky to receive four fantastic pairs of laces from ropeslaces.com who take pride in providing the uk with the best replacement and additional rope laces, to mix up with your favourite pairs - which don't always come with lace swap options!

i was sent the raging bulls (*) (pictured above with my caviars), black flash (*) (perfect match for my patta gel sagas), red flash (*) (to compliment my vanquish) and last but by no means least is my favourite the cherry bomb (*) pair - which i'm saving to go with something super special.

my laces arrived in heat sealed bags, which are resealable so you can keep your laces super neat in between swaps - but the brand have recently been sending out new product in card holders, which also look great, along with a ton of stickers!

ropeslaces is run buy a group of sneakerheads, who promote individualism and high quality finishes. encouraging fellow sneakerheads to mix up their lace game to compliment a grail pair, or breathe new life into some old favourites which have been boxed away!

each set of laces retail for £5, which is extremely good value for money. shipping is super quick, and the laces look fantastic! the colours are vivid - the raging bulls pair serves as the perfect replacement for the original KITH laces which came with my caviars (they couldn't stand the test of time!)

i've got my eyes on the river and nautica pair for my new nippon blues which arrived today, along with the candy floss - purely because the colour is gorgeous! ropeslaces are always striving for new colour combos to compliment your collection, but the styles are fast moving so you gotta be quick to snap them up!

check out the pictures below of when i experimented with my wildcats and caviars with the raging bulls! counting down the days until payday so i can pick up some more colourways! i'm looking forward to trying the other three pairs in some of my other asics, so look out on my instagram for those combos!

shop ropeslaces online now and check out the brands facebook, instagram and twitter pages for the latest news and styling ideas!

precious metals : cred jewellery

ethical fairtrade cred jewellery precious metal otherway london rings gold silver

ethical fairtrade cred jewellery precious metal otherway london rings gold silver

in my eyes, simplicity is the finest form of sophistication and when adding the finishing touches to your outfit jewellery is very important. i live a monochrome life, most of my wardrobe is back, grey with a hint of white – so the best way for me to add a pop of colour, or detail is with rings and bracelets. It’s an easy way too brighten an outfit, without adding (in my eyes) too much pattern or too much print.

cred jewellery are based in London and are the original 100% fair-trade accredited jewellery brand. we’re surrounded by fair-trade markets for food and produce, but i (like many of us) never really thought about how we source our gold and silver, assuming terribly that most big name brands did look to source fairly.

i usually have an issue with finding rings to fit, most brands tend to size up slightly big for me, but the forget me knot ring was perfect. constructed out of delicately knotted white gold, it is very eye-catching and showcases perfectly that understated jewellery is an excellent compliment to an outfit – diamonds are not (always) a necessity!

brazil fever: asics

asics gel saga brazil world cup 2014 brazil pack football

in homage to the world cups host country, brazil. asics pay tribute with the release of the ‘brazil' pack which features two iconic styles - the gel lyte v and gel epirus represented in the colours of the national flag. a mix of premium suede and synthetic mesh make up the packs construction, with an embroidered tongue label to finish.

the gel lyte v features bold blue colour accents to the tongue, ankle wrap and iconic waved heel detailing - finished with a crisp gum sole and tonal green laces. whilst the gel epirus, releases in colour contrast to the gel lyte v in vivid blue with details in yellow, white and green.

both styles encapsulate the vibrancy of brazil and the growing excitement behind the worlds largest sporting event. the gel lyte v is slowly becoming my favourite silhouette from the brand and the brazil pack showcases a great GR release to hit the shelves this year.

puma R698 OG '93

puma r698 og release, puma, worn my way, canoe pr

hot on the heels of the tropicalia pack, puma continue to experiment with their most iconic running silhouettes. next to get a fresh colour-up in time for summer is the R698. structurally unchanged since the 1993 release, the OG style incapsulates the look and feel of the original.

paying homage to the OG colour palette of the XS850, the R968 gets a colour flip with a blacked out upper along with pop colour details in vivid magenta. speckle print (which i love!) comes into play to the ankle wrap, adding definition and drawing your eye nicely to the back detailing and trinomic branding.

i really love the chunkiness of this style, the stripe detailing over the heel wrap through to the midsole in light grey breaks the style up - without unsettling the stealthy summer coolness of the black and pink. the colours compliment each other, providing a contemporary update for 2014.

the puma R698 will be available in store from the 17th may at hanon, end and footpatrol. sadly the size run is a uk6-uk12, lets hope puma catch on and let us little footed people have a slice of the action soon!

brand focus: asics - my collection

asics brand focus jennifer spence my collection asics gel saga gel lyteiii amsterdam patta

one of my favourite brands at the moment is asics, recently i was sent some laces from ropeslaces to check out and try with some of my favourite pairs (post coming up soon) and after lovingly unboxing all my pairs (and dusting some off after been box bound for years) i realised i've managed to accumulate a great collection, considering i have size uk 4 feet!

i just wanted to do a quick post, running through my pairs - which are all my favourites. i have some from my favourite brands, such as patta and also great stores hanon and bait. i was lucky enough to be bought my st. alfreds as a present along with my netherlands olympic team x gt-II, which i never ever thought i would get!

my footpatrol x asics gel sagas are probably the pair most close to my heart, as this was the first release i ever queued for. i arrived at 8am, the only girl which meant my wait was calm - knowing i was the only size uk4 there! my pair also came with a limited edition wooden box, proudly stamped with number 42/100 which now has pride of place amongst all other oddments in my apartment.

the asics design is something i love. the incorporation of tonal colours, premium suedes and stand out branding is the perfect way to brighten up my monochrome wardrobe. the gel lyte III is one of my favourites, however recently i was able to get my paws on a pair of ronnie fieg x gel lyte V 'coves' and i think that silhouette might have pipped them to the post!

it's hard to narrow my little collection down to my favourite top 3, i've recently been spending a lot of time in my hanon x asics gel lyte III 'wildcats' - though i do need to be careful with them. along with my footpatrol x asics gel sagas, which i finally broke out the box after 1 year 7 months!

check out the snaps below and let me know what is your grail pair? or your favourite pair you own? leave a comment in the box below!
