november favourites

due to the stresses of moving home (i always stupidly pick this time of year!) blogging has been sporadic, to say the least. so, i decided to do a quick favourites post, with some items that i have picked up this week.

sad ghost club, geometric, christmas, new, favourites, home, homewares, blogger, homesense, tkmaxx, anxiety , depression,
geometric christmas decoration and gold bauble

i ventured into home sense at the weekend, which is kind of like a TKMAXX homewares gold mine! it will be my first 'propper' christmas in a house this year, so i'm really excited about decorating. after a lot of rummaging through the shelves and racks in home sense, i managed to locate a pair of geometric baubles and the glass ones above. i love copper and rose gold at the moment, so hoping i can find other bits and pieces to decorate the tree in this theme. i also managed to pick up a matching geometric 'garland' - i can't wait to have this proudly hanging on the kitchen door!

sad ghost club, geometric, christmas, new, favourites, home, homewares, blogger, homesense, tkmaxx, anxiety , depression,
anxiety and depression can be a very lonely illness. i sometimes suffer with crippling anxiety, which either effects me constantly through the day, or with panic attacks at night which affect my sleep. the sad ghost club are an organisation who's aim is to help anyone who's ever felt lonely or lost, due to anxiety or depression.

moonlit meadow

moonlit meadow bouquet - debenhams flowers (*)

sending flowers is the perfect way to celebrate a number of occasions. i love having fresh flowers in the house, the smell reminds me of my parents property in the country. debenhams offer a next day flowers and luxury flower range - with ranges of special bouquets launching around holidays and events.

with bouquets starting from a very reasonable £19.99, for classic lily and rose mixes, going right up to £39.99 for huge, show stopping bouquets. there are a number of bouquets available for any budget or taste. i selected the moonlit meadow bouquet, which consists of avalanche roses, blue thistles, freesia and other gorgeous flowers of british meadows.

i absolutely love the way blue thisle is included, it adds such a gorgeous tone to the bouquet alongside the lilacs and rich greens. the bouquet is well arranged, with a half a dozen mixed size roses and rustic countryside style foliage. the stems are also cut to fit perfectly into a standard size vase, only requiring a little trimming down.

the bouquet arrived in a sturdy, classic debenhams lilac box, complete with rose food. i really was impressed with the packaging, so many times i've seen flowers arrive in a bag or wrapped in paper and it's such a shame for them to get squashed!

purchase your perfect bouquet from debenhams flowers now, using the code DFBLOG25 for 25% off - (flowers by post range not included within the offer)

nordic christmas

christmas, home, homewares, interiors, pintrest, mood board, style, inspiration, monochrome, nordic, christmas inspiration,
so, it may only just be august, but all this gloomy weather has got me looking forward to the festive season - cosy warm blankets, cups of tea and home made soups - yum! this will be my first christmas in my new house, last christmas was a stressful occasion, i was in between jobs and in between houses – so i didn’t even get the chance to decorate!

i’ve been pinning some of my favourite nordic/scandinavian style christmas ideas over the past few days, and it’s got me really excited for purchasing my first christmas tree! my living room is predominantly grey, with touches of  pewter purple – which fits perfectly with my love of a monochrome christmas.

i think this year my colour scheme will be black and white, with grey and silver decorations - though i might experiment by adding a little gold! i love the idea of using the DIY letter bunting from this modern life, to decorate the walls with lovely festive phrases. light string cotton balls make a great, softer alternative to LED string lights, they would be great added to the tree! i love paper decorations and these patterned monochrome ones from minico are a great way to get crafty at home.

I don't want no scrub

'no scrubs' tee (*) - house of junk

house of junk are an upcoming uk street wear brand, hailing from stokes croft, bristol. With their straight talking, fun loving, no mess attitude house of junk live for the moment, inspired by adventures, artists and travel.

the brands latest collection includes everything from classic oversized tees, crop tops, bodysuits and beanies. the diverse collection really shows the brands creative and eclectic side, with bold pop colours, slogans and classic styles.

kara and nicki, the brains and beauty behind the brand work together on all the designing and art directing for house of junk. their eccentric attitude really comes across in the lookbooks and collections, with the girls currently doing the festival rounds through the uk – keep an eye out for the girl, spreading the house of junk love!

my favourite style has to be the ‘no scrubs’ tee, bringing back a ton of 90s memories from my childhood, the baby pink takes me back to a time of denim dungarees, tommy girl perfume and braided hair. the quality of the tee is amazing, it fits like a dream and is super soft. i can pair it with easy jeans, or go all out with a pair of dungarees.

shore projects - project 3

shore projects barra watch new watch blogger blogger mail british daily watches

following the success of the slick, metallic make over of project 2, shore projects release their third collection of watches. the six style strong collection, features watches named after some of britain's most loved beaches - barra, morecambe, newquay, anglesey, lulworth and camber - each watch has an individual colour pop, which is reminiscent of vintage fishing boats.

i loved the new season details of project 2, delicate wave engraving to the crown and styles name engraved on the back of the watch with shore projects flag logo - and i'm pleased to see all these design touches remain for project 3. shore projects have given project 1 a classic rework for project 3, featuring brushed stainless steel casings, crisp coloured faces and bold contrasting dials.

the quality and minimalist touches of the project 1 and 2 still remain, but i love the addition of the colours to the faces of the collection. project 3 really does feel timeless, it has such a lovely vintage feel that reminds me of my grandads favourite watch, and time spent on family holidays in swanage.

i decided to make use of the mix and match feature online, and paired my barra with the lemon silicone strap - which really does sit beautifully next to the creme face. the new silicone straps are super soft, and the pastel colour palette really makes them the perfect accompaniment for the whole collection.

needless to say, i'm in love!

project 3 from shore projects is available online now, along with the new silicone strap range.

fifi lapin by mamas & papas

so, i've been struggling immensely with time management and organisation the past few months, and sadly blogging is usually the first thing to get pushed to the side! despite it being a really busy few months, everything really is going great. for the first time in 4 years my anxiety is under control, i can sleep well at night - and all in all, i'm a much more positive person.

i have a ton of exciting new posts to share with you, but in the meantime, to break things up - i thought i'd pull together a selection of my favourite snaps from july.

shore projects - project 2

shore projects, shoreprojects, watches, british, seaside, accessories, fashion, daily watches, loveluxxe, review, launch, salcome, project 1 , project 2,

i’m super excited to announce the release of shore project’s project 2 watches, which are now available online! when the email pinged up in my inbox a few weeks ago, prior to the brands official preview announcement, it was like all my watch prayers had been answered!

shore have given project 1 a slick, metallic make-over for project 2, featuring brushed stainless steel faces and subtle contrasting dials, sapphire crystal glass and metallic milanese mesh straps – which are still completely interchangeable.

the quality and minimalistic touches famed in project 1 remain, such as a high quality quartz movement and waterproofing up to 100m for those days spent by the sea. inspired by the beauty of the british coastline, project 2 watches are named after four of the brands favourite coastal spots - abersoch, falmouth, salcombe and cowes.

i really did have a tough choice when selecting a watch from the collection, I was torn between the understated black pvd of the falmouth, and the soft feminine rose gold salcome - which in the end, won my heart.

i love the new season details of project 2, with delicate wave engraving to the crown and also engraved to the back of the watch is the style name and shore projects flag logo. the new metallic straps are adjustable, which is fantastic news for those who have slim wrists like myself and the little wave branding to the clasp really oozes quality, its all in the final finishes.

monochrome dream - timex uk

timex uk classic round watch review blogger fashion blogger watches daily watches grove coms grove communications loveluxxe
timex classic round (*) in monochrome white

a few weeks ago i received my classic round watch from timex UK in monochrome white, which is absolutely gorgeous!

timex began in the US in 1854, creating watches which pushed the boundaries of innovative design and technology. this is my first timex watch, and i am so impressed with the quality and look of the watch.

combining both sport and style elements into their collections, timex release watches which mix classic style with minimalist design touches – all at a completely affordable price point.

my classic round watch features a white face, with slightly off-white dials, so you can make them out easy. the casing for the watch is matte finish silver, with mineral glass crystal, i love the colour and material combinations. most importantly, the leather white strap fits perfectly on my slim wrists and the large face makes it such a statement piece!

i really love the look of this watch, i wear a lot of black – i was nervous at investing in a bright white watch, but it sits so well in my outfits. the watch includes timex special indiglo night-light, making it ideal to keep my my bedside for time-checking. the watch mechanism does have a louder tick than some of my others, but i don't find it distracting when working in a quiet office!

the timex classic round is available online now, in a range of colours - £59.99

paulin watches - from glasgow with love

paulin watches, daily watches, watches, accessories, made in britain, glasgow, watch, womens fashion, womens accsessories,

developed, manufactured and assembled within their glasgow studio, paulin watches are a brand who is proud to be representing and regenerating the british watchmaking industry.

consisting of three key styles, all with their own capsule collections compromising of 4-5 colourways, paulin watches offer affordable, high quality and above all sophisticated watches. constructed using 316l grade stainless steel for the casing, italian leather all housed within one of my favourite features, uk made packaging.

my favourite style from the current collection is the c50b, the c50 itself is one of the brands current petite models. it’s perfectly girly and the soft colour concepts are super feminine. i usually struggle with getting a watch to fit my wrists, but the c50b fits like a dream. the dusty rose pink italian leather strap is super soft, with no rough and raised stitching!

as a lover of rose gold, i had to go for this model and style – unfortunately my photographs don’t do the face justice, as it looks slightly coppery but in reality is a rich rose gold. the watch arrived packaged beautifully in a rectangular box, with instruction manual and about the brand leaflets within a card envelope – which was a really lovely touch!

new balance 574 'nyx' custom

new balance made in the usa custom design new balance uk made by me

you might remember my previous new balance 574 custom post (here), new balance uk were so kind to send me a unique voucher code which enabled me to make up another pair utilising the new custom options online. sadly, the option is still only available in the US, so its time to call in a favour from a friend overseas if you want to make up your own pair!

i opted again for the 574 silhouette, i was super excited to make a reverse colourway to my 'orcas', but the new autumn/winter colourway options didn't feature any pastel colours (sob!). after much debate i decided to take some inspiration from the asics 'leatherback' release, so i went for a black and dark grey suede mix, with synthetic details - which later turned out to be 3M!

january blues - p.s. i'm back!

i've been majorly m.i.a in the blogger world! i've been having a tough few months and it's just left me with zero time/energy to check in with anything! i'm in the process of an unplanned life overhaul which is consisting of job hunting, trying to stay afloat money wise and a bit of soul searching in the process.

besides all the job applications, interviews and CV re-writes, i've mostly been hanging out with my cat coco and trying to work out exactly what i want to do with my life. for so long i've always worked within the trainer and sportswear industry, but with this (unwelcome) life overhaul it's given me the chance to regroup and consider other, possibly more fulfilling career industries. it's not that i don't love everything and anything to do with sports brands and of course the fashion - it's just i think it's time to separate my hobby, from my career choice.
